Eufy’s New Smart Lock Uses Palm Vein Recognition for Touchless, Smarter Home Entry
Eufy has just launched the FamiLock S3 Max, a cutting-edge smart lock that takes touchless
entry to a new level—with palm vein recognition. Unlike fingerprint scanners, this system reads
the unique vein patterns in your palm, allowing secure access even if your hands are dirty, wet,
or sweaty. No contact required.
But that’s not all. The S3 Max also pulls double duty as a video doorbell, featuring a 2K
resolution camera with a 140-degree vertical and horizontal field of view. That means full head-
to-toe visibility of visitors and packages.
Thanks to built-in AI person detection, the FamiLock S3 Max can send alerts for approaching
guests—or potential porch pirates—before they even ring the bell.
Security-conscious users will appreciate that biometric data is stored locally, not in the cloud,
reducing risk. For video footage, you can choose between cloud storage (via subscription) or
local encrypted storage using Eufy’s HomeBase 3.
The FamiLock S3 Max combines smart security and convenience in one sleek package—no need
for separate locks and doorbells. Just scan your palm, and you’re home.
