After a bit of a wait, Ecobee’s Smart Doorbell Camera now fully integrates with Google Home.
Originally launched in late 2023 with support for Apple Home and Amazon Alexa, the long-
promised Google compatibility has officially arrived.

With the latest update, users can now view live video feeds from the Ecobee doorbell through the
Google Home app or smart displays like the Nest Hub. You can also use Google Assistant voice
commands to check your door, speak with visitors through the built-in intercom, and receive
alerts when someone rings the bell.

This update enhances the doorbell’s already unique feature set—including the ability to use an
Ecobee smart thermostat as a video intercom—and positions it as a strong alternative to the $180
wired Nest Doorbell. At $160, it’s slightly more affordable, though it lacks free video recording.
To store footage, you’ll need a $5/month or $50/year subscription for 30 days of cloud-based
motion clip storage.
Still, for Google Home users, the Ecobee doorbell is now a smart and seamless choice.
