Kaleidescape Introduces Mini Terra Prime: A Compact, High-Performance Movie Server
Kaleidescape has unveiled the Mini Terra Prime, a compact new addition to the company’s Terra Prime lineup. Priced at $5,995, the solid-state server packs 8TB of storage, enough room for roughly 125 of Kaleidescape’s high-bitrate 4K titles—far larger and higher quality than typical streaming files.
Despite its small footprint, the Mini Terra Prime is built for performance. Kaleidescape says downloads can finish in as little as four minutes when using a 2.5 gigabit Ethernet connection, and the server supports up to 25 simultaneous playbacks without compromising quality. Its silent, fanless design makes it ideal for rack installations or quiet home theaters.
“Mini Terra Prime is Kaleidescape’s most compact movie server, but it delivers a mighty punch: fast downloads, high performance playback, and ample storage,” said Tayloe Stansbury, chairman and CEO of Kaleidescape. “It is the perfect complement for Kaleidescape M and E reference-quality movie players.”
In addition to speed and storage, the Mini Terra Prime unlocks Kaleidescape’s full interface, including the signature cover-shuffle mode and streamlined list views. Systems can scale across the home as well—installations can include up to four Terra Prime servers alongside unlimited Strato players.
For those building a high-end, whole-home movie ecosystem, the Mini Terra Prime brings power, flexibility, and Kaleidescape’s signature playback quality in its smallest form factor yet.
